Kindon State School

Introducing Kindon State School...

Kindon State School is situated on the Gore Highway between Goondiwindi and Millmerran.  Our multi-age classrooms provide co-educational teaching and learning from Prep to Year 6 for 7 students from this largely farming and grazing area with all students attending Kindon State School residing on local properties.  The relationship amongst the students is close, as they are all neighbours and have socialised most of their lives.  This provides a basis for a very supportive learning experience.  All of the students arrive at school on the school bus, with the families living up to 50km from school.

Our curriculum for Prep to Six focuses on all Key Learning Areas, with an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy.  We believe in an engaging, real-world driven learning with a ‘students interests’ directed approach.  We have implemented the Australian Curriculum in English, Maths and Science.

The school community plays a very active role in the school and support the students in all that they do.  The community places a high value on education and work together to provide many extra resources and experiences for the students.

Students at Kindon State School are given opportunities to interact with appropriate technology and are continually challenged to see computers and software as resources comparable to pen and paper.  These technologies are effective in bringing a variety of learning experiences into our classrooms.
