Kindon State School is located on the Gore Highway, 80km NE of Goondiwindi in south-western Queensland.
The School was opened in 1963 by the member for Balonne, Mr E.J. Beardmore who stated:
"Here in this little school is the real wealth of your district - for education is a priceless asset."
The school opened with 25 students under the instruction of the first Principal, Mr Bob Harding.
The School is now part of the Macintyre Cluster, which encompasses all of the small schools surrounding Goondiwindi as well as the primary and high schools within the town.
The school is a one teacher primary school with a teaching Principal who is assisted by a contract teacher 1-2 days a week and a number of teacher aides. The school is an integral part of the local rural community with all students living on neighbouring properties.
The Department of Education (the department) is committed to ensuring Queensland children and families have access to a kindergarten program wherever they live.
The department provides kindergarten programs in selected approved State Schools in communities where families would otherwise not have access to a kindergarten program. Kindergarten is proudly provided at our school 5 days per fortnight. We offer an approved kindergarten program delivered by a qualified teacher to children who are at least four years old by 30 June in the year they start the program.
Please see the enrolments tab for information on how to register your child.
